Mustafa S. Huseini, MD

Dr. Mustafa S. Huseini is an accomplished gastroenterologist currently serving as a GI Hospitalist at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo, OH, as well as a Gastroenterologist at Memorial Healthcare in Owosso, MI. He is known for his expertise in treating obesity through bariatric endoscopy, as well as addressing gastrointestinal diseases, and has shown his dedication to advancing the field through both clinical practice and research.

During the course of his career Dr. Huseini has worked in private practice, hospitalist roles, and research and has authored or co-authored numerous pieces of research that have appeared in journals such as Frontiers in Medicine and American Journal of Gastroenterology. He is an active member of several professional organizations, including the American College of Gastroenterology and the American Gastroenterological Association.

Dr. Huseini earned his M.B.B.S. from Al-Ameen Medical College in Bijapur, India, and completed his internship at Osmania General Hospital in Hyderabad, India. He completed his residency in General Surgery and Internal Medicine at St. Joseph Mercy Oakland in Pontiac, MI, where he also served as Chief Resident. He further specialized with fellowships in Obesity Medicine and Nutrition Support, Gastroenterology, and Bariatric Endoscopy at Geisinger Medical Center and Brigham and Women’s Hospital at Harvard Medical School.
